2007 BEAMISH CANCELLED

The club has decided to cancel the event for 2007 due to concerns about liability, risk, organisational & support issues. The club will be reviewing these issues and lwill look at possibly running the event in 2008 but in a different format. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused to entrants. Anyone wishing to discuss this decision with the club can contact Pete Robson (contact details can be found eslewhere on this site).

Beamish Trophy Trial

The famous Beamish Trophy Trial is organised by our club, having taken over from The Friends of Beamish in 1999.

The trial covers nearly 100 miles of Northern Dales in Durham, Cumbria and Northumberland and is a road-based event which has a number of off-road sections. It is a quite unique event and is almost unparalleled in this country. Entrants can cover all of the route and sections on road going machines, although there are many off-road machines entered.

The regulations and entry forms are usually made available from May and are available from the club secretary or on-line at this site. Previous entrants will automatically be sent the necessary information.

Entry to the event costs £10-00 which includes insurance cover. Every entrant receives a badge, even if they don't start or finish. A date bar is also awarded to every starter.

The start and finish is at The New Board Inn, Hilltop, Esh, County Durham. We are indebted to the management for allowing us to use their excellent facilities.

Entrants come from all over Britain, with some travelling great distances to participate. England, Wales, Scotland are well represented but we still await our first entrant from Ireland.

There are twenty three class awards available. Entrants knowledge of motoring history and highway code is tested along the route.
